"Liberalism is the Confiscation of Freedom and Liberty in the name of the People, while Conservatism promotes the Conservation of Freedom and Liberty for the People"
The Scene at the Signing of the Constitution of the United States , painted by Howard Chandler Christy in 1940. It depicts the signing of the U.S. Constitution at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The interesting part of this painting is, the rug under the desk, was loaned to Howard Chandler Christy, by my Grand Father for the painting, then he gave it to him after the painting was done. It was a 1920's Sarouk... not too period for the painting, but it worked ;-)
